466 Works is a Community Development Corporation started by the Pastor and lay folks at Mount Carmel Baptist Church. They are inviting all of the residents and churches to be a part of the revitalization of the neighborhood in which Gloria Dei resides. 466 Works is instrumental in moving the city of South Bend to restart the planning process to revitalize the neighborhood. A consultant group from Chicago has sought input and developed a master plan that is being presented to the common council.
The churches in the neighborhood are joining together on May 30 from 9-11:30 to lead a pick up trash event on several of the blocks. We are inviting the neighborhood to take part too. We will meet at Broadway Christian Parish at 9am on that Saturday. The city will provide trash bags and gloves. The city representative, Elizabeth Maradik, has arranged for trash pick up for our neighborhood on that day. Please join me and our neighbors in beautifying the neighborhood. Pr. Zell
